What am I actually renting?
Software that logs into a Steam account you own, posts your listings on backpack.tf and handles the offers that come in — on our servers, so nothing of yours has to be running.
Do I need to leave my PC on?
No. That's the name.
Do you need my main Steam account?
Never. Bots run on a dedicated account with the mobile authenticator enabled — you create it, you own it, and you move across only the items you want traded.
Who keeps the profit?
You do, all of it. We charge flat monthly rent and take nothing per trade.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes. Use ours on everything, set a buy ceiling and sell floor per item, or pin a price outright. Anything above a value cap you choose waits for your approval.
How do I cancel and get my items back?
Cancel from the dashboard. The bot pulls its listings, closes open offers and sends your inventory to the account you nominate. No notice period, no minimum term.
Is running a bot allowed?
Trading bots are a normal part of the TF2 economy and backpack.tf is built around them. That said, it's your Steam account and you're responsible for it. We won't touch anything dishonest — no scam offers, no fake listings.
